How do we stop doing chruch and start being church?

Hey Mike! Wow, it's like we get to hang out again like in the old days... except I can't pick you up & hug you & you can't give me a wedgy or shoot me with a super-soaker. (So I guess it's not really like the old days at all.) Anyway... I'm stoked you're online brother!

Regarding your post... I wonder if it's better for us to ask why the church separated BEING & DOING in the first place. We see it in ancient Greek philosophy & recent existential theology (Paul Tillich even wrote a book titled BEING & DOING); but the OT believers never seemed to suffer this identity crisis... BEING was the same as DOING for them. Even the Hebrew word HYH translated "I AM" in Genesis 3:14 carries both BEING & DOING in its definition ("to be, become, come to pass, exist, happen, fall out"). Maybe if we put BEING & DOING back together, the question would resolve itself? What do you think?

I Agree John. Shortly after posting the questin I felt it was a fairly poor question. When I have more time I will post some more of my thoughts.
